Sharks Defeat Whalers in Overtime
Saints Win with Ford's Two-Goal Game

Sharks had a tough test in their opening game of the Winter Season with the Whalers. The Whalers built a 3-0 lead, but the Sharks battled back to tie the game twice, 4-4 and 5-5 before getting an overtime goal by Tim Fallon to pull out a 6-5 win.

Marshfield's Tim Cruz, in his return to the league, scored two goals and Daron Jacobs added a goal, which tied the game 5-5 with 5:24 left in regulation. Jacobs also had two assists to lead the Sharks offense. The Sharks also had a big night from Pembroke's Bill Sawtelle who had a goal and an assist, Mike Valenti scored a goal and Artie Riccio had three assists in the game. John Guilderson scored two goals and Eric Morgan of Pembroke had a goal and an assist to lead the Whalers' offense. Tom Piepenbrink and Andy Clark also scored goals and Jim Toner of Hanover had two assists for the Whalers.
  John Dunn scored two goals and set up another one in the Stingers' 6-5 win over the Toros. Jim Polito had a goal and an assist. Steve Lemish of Pembroke, Chris Poudrier and Norwell's Joe Murray added a goal each. Steve Colella and John Tympanick both scored a goal and assisted on another one for the Toros. Pembroke's Jim Holmes, Steve Figlioli and Peter Cleary of Norwell added a goal each.


Stingers 6 - Toros 5

  Jim Ford scored two goals to spark a three goal second period to lead the Saints to a 4-1 win over the
Crusaders. Derek Knudsen and Kevin Gee of Scituate both scored for the Saints in the win. Mike Simon scored for the Crusaders in the third period.
